LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – A resident of the Waterstone apartments on Polo Club Boulevard fell victim to a couple of thieves who got into her car and stole all of her credit cards. In very little time, Lexington police said the crooks racked up $20,000 in charges that included gift cards, gas, and merchandise at several Lexington area stores.
“Most people if they don’t have their wallet, it’s a matter of time before they need to make a purchase,” said Det. Kristyn Klingshirn. “So it seems (the thieves) try and make as many purchases as they can before you notify the bank and the cards are deactivated.”
Despite the crooks’ best efforts to hide their faces, cameras are everywhere in the stores where they made fraudulent purchases. Crime Stoppers has a $1,500 cash reward for anyone who can tell the organization who they are.
