District Attorney Jim Martin, Lehigh County’s top law enforcement official for 25 years, says he won’t seek reelection in November.
“It is my intent, God willing, to serve the remainder of my term in office which will end the first Monday of January, 2024,” Martin said in a statement, adding that he was grateful to former Lehigh County Executive Jane Baker for appointing him in 1998.
Martin said he is proud of the office’s record under his leadership, especially its criminal homicide prosecutions — 289 convictions in 296 cases, or 97.5%.
This is a developing story.
