The conference will be held at the Sofitel Legend Santa Clara Cartagena on 21 March. The event coincides with the IBA’s Latin American Regional Forum from 22 March to 24 March.

The event will kick off with opening remarks from the co-chairs before diving into a discussion of how political uncertainty in Latin American jurisdictions can play a detrimental role in the implementation of energy transition policies. The panel will also examine the region’s growing lithium market.
The second panel of the day will bring together renewable asset developers, regulators and financial institutions to discuss how the region can capitalise on its booming renewable energy market.
Following a short coffee break, the conference will reconvene to debate regulations in the renewable energy sector and how Latin American nations can keep up with the fast-moving industry. The discussion will also cover decommissioning legalisation and approval processes behind renewables projects.
After the networking lunch, delegates will have the chance to listen to a fireside chat about how Ecuador and Brazil have become champions of renewable energy, particularly in relation to hydropower. The panel will share views, experiences and solutions to reflect Ecuador and Brazil’s successful development in this field.
The next session will take a look at the finance options for renewable energy projects in Latin America, including searching for capital with foreign investors and creating dedicated funds.
In the final panel of the day, panellists will share their views on the future of green power in Latin America, such as clean hydrogen and carbon capture opportunities.
The day will conclude with closing remarks from Springsteen and Martins.
