Washington – A group of defense lawyers Wednesday tried to discredit former Syracuse Proud Boy Matthew Greene’s testimony against five members of the far-right group on trial for seditious conspiracy in the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol.
Over the course of more than seven hours of questioning, the lawyers suggested Greene had limited exposure to Proud Boys leaders and no evidence they conspired to violently stop Congress from certifying the results of the 2020 presidential election.
